There was extensive damage to the leaves and flowers on this piece, as well as having the antlers completely missing. The antlers posed a problem (like anything of this nature). One simply can't just "stick" the antlers back on, they would be too fragile. A drill was used to place metal struts inside the restoration to make it more robust.
