This Swiss/German Dial had been extensively restored before it came to us and needed to be completely stripped down .We then started from new( the blank face) and recreated all the numerals and decoration, no small feat as this dial measured 10 inches in diameter and needed a great deal of work. Usually we tend to think that over restoration on a piece can spoil the finished article but in this case we had no choice.
